BRIDGERTON: curiosities about the most popular tv series

The first Netflix series signed by the production company Shondaland, takes up the history of nineteenth century England and the Regency style genre. In just twenty-eight days since screening, roughly 63 million subscribers worldwide watched it. Impressive, sky-high numbers that place Bridgerton among the most watched Netflix titles ever.

Now I’m going to tell you all the interesting facts about this TV series.

1 Bridgerton is based on the romance novels of Julia Quinn. The first season, picks up first book “The Duke and I”. Each book is dedicated to each of the Bridgerton siblings, which are 8: four boys and four girls.

• The Viscount Who Loved Me – focused on Anthony
• An offer from a gentleman – focused on Benedict
• Romancing mister Bridgerton – focused on Colin
• To Sir Philip with love – focused on Eloise
• When he was wicked – focused on Francesca

2 Viscount Bridgerton with Violet gave birth to 8 children. All named in alphabetical order: Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyachint.

3 The two main characters: Daphne and Simon, played by Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page, before the official recording had to follow 6 weeks of preparation to learn the right posture, dance and piano lessons and go horse riding.

4 Julie Andrews is the narrator for Lady Whistledown. The voiceover was done in New York in a recording studio while filming the Bridgerton series was done in England. This is not the actress’ first work in collaboration with Shonda, in fact, Julie Andrews also previously worked with her on Princess Diary.

5 7500 costumes were made for the TV series and Daphne wore 104 of them.

6 All intimate scenes between the two characters were coordinated by choreographer Lizzy Talbot. In fact, the actors were explained everything in detail: how they had to move and even where they had to put their hands.

7 The most famous pop songs were rearranged in an instrumental version to better suit a period drama.

8 Queen Charlotte is played by Golda Rosheuvel, who has origins with the British royal family.

La prima serie Netflix firmata dalla casa di produzione Shondaland, riprende la storia del diciannovesimo secolo inglese e il genere Regency. In solo ventotto giorni dalla messa in onda, circa 63 milioni di abbonati in tutto il mondo l’hanno guardata. Numeri impressionanti e altissimi che posizionano Bridgerton tra i titoli Netflix più visti di sempre. 

Adesso vi racconterò tutte le curiosità riguardanti questa serie tv. 

1.Bridgerton è tratta dai romanzi rosa di Julia Quinn. La prima stagione, riprende primo libro “Il duca e io”. Ogni libro è dedicato a ognuno dei fratelli Bridgerton, che sono 8: quattro maschi e quattro femmine.

3. I due protagonisti: Daphne e Simon, interpretati da Phoebe Dynevor e Regé-Jean Page, prima delle riprese ufficiali hanno dovuto seguire 6 settimane di preparazione per imparare il giusto portamento, le lezioni di ballo e di piano e andare a cavallo.

4. Julie Andrews è la voce narrante di Lady Whistledown. Il voiceover è stato fatto a New York in uno studio di registrazione mentre le riprese della serie Bridgerton sono state fatte in Inghilterra. Questo non è il primo lavoro dell’attrice in collaborazione con Shonda, infatti, Julie Andrews ha lavorato precedentemente con lei anche in Princess Diary.

5. Sono stati realizzati 7500 costumi per la serie tv e Daphne ne ha indossati 104.

6. Tutte le scene intime tra i due protagonisti sono state coordinate dalla coreografa Lizzy Talbot. Infatti agli attori è stato spiegato tutto nei dettagli: come si dovevano muovere e addirittura dove dovevano mettere le mani.

7. Le più famose canzoni pop sono state riarrangiate in versione strumentale per adattarle meglio a un period drama.

8. La regina Charlotte è interpretata da Golda Rosheuvel, che ha delle origini con la  famiglia reale inglese.
